Super Contributions
AvSuper accepts the following types of contributions for our members:
- Salary Sacrifice Contributions - contributions made from your pre-tax salary, if your employer agrees
- Member Contributions – personal contributions from your after-tax pay, or untaxed contributions (if you are self employed)
- Employer Contributions – contributions made by employers under the Superannuation Guarantee and various employment awards
- Government Co-contributions – Government co-contributions received on your behalf will automatically be credited to your AvSuper account
- Spouse contributions – contributions to your account made by your spouse [ read about tax offsets ]
- Contributions Splitting – where a member’s superannuation is split with their spouse
- Directed termination payments (DTP’s) – you can request your employer to pay your transitional termination payment to us if you were eligible for that payment on 9 May 2006 (certain conditions apply). Transitional termination payments only apply until 30 June 2012.
To make a contribution to AvSuper you can:
- Deposit your contribution into AvSuper's bank account, using your member number as the reference, and email us the details. Our account details are:

- Download a voluntary contributions form and send it to us with a cheque or money order made out to AvSuper
- Request your bank to make regular contributions from your bank account
- If your employer agrees, you may be able to make arrangements for your contributions to be deducted from your pay and sent to AvSuper with your employer contributions
Please note that there are Contributions Limits in place that may limit the level of contributions you are able to make without tax penalties.
