One in eight people get diagnosed with breast cancer every day. That one in eight is my Mum. It could be yours.

On 13 May 2018, it will be the 21st running of the Women in Super Australian Mother’s Day Classic and I’m proud to say that AvSuper are sponsoring this worthy event for the 11th year.

The aim of the Mother’s Day Classic is to deliver a fun, healthy and inspirational event that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer.

We would love to see you support this event in your capital city by walking, running, registering to volunteer or making a donation. This is the largest single fundraising event which supports further research into breast cancer through the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) – over $33 million has been raised in the last 20 years.

In Canberra, the event is being organised by a great team which includes two AvSuper staff (Naomi Hales and myself), and will be supported on the day by many volunteers such as our Operations Manager, Shan Badowski. If you’re in Canberra, come and say hello, and maybe you can walk alongside Nick Smith, Executive Manager – Finance & Tax.

Together, let’s walk all over breast cancer!

Registrations are now open at http://www.mothersdayclassic.com.au/register/ – don’t forget to add yourself to the AvSuper team!

Donations can also be made online at https://mothersdayclassic18.everydayhero.com/au/avsuper.
