February 2020

welcome to your latest member update!

Wow, what a start to 2020.
Late last year, we reminded you about being cyber aware and keeping your account secure. If you haven't already done so, we suggest you look at updating all your important passwords, including the password you use to access member Online.
As always, we invite you to call, email or AvChat with us to ask questions about your super and any legislative changes, or just to keep in touch and give us your super ideas.

Under new laws, some members' insurance cover will cease on 1 April 2020 to ensure their super is not eroded by duplicate or unnecessary fees. We have contacted the relevant members, but remind you that you can choose to keep your cover (within our usual terms and conditions).
To keep your cover even if your account is inactive (ie not received any contributions or rollovers for 16 months), you are under 25 or have a balance under $6,000, use our online form to tell us to elect to maintain insurance cover.
Did you know that AvSuper insurance can continue for up to three years while you live out of Australia?
If you want cover to last longer than that, or have been overseas for longer and want us to stop deducting insurance fees, please contact us as soon as you can to discuss your situation.
As we head towards the end of financial year, you might like to log into Member Online to update...
- your contact details (make sure important news gets to you)
- your preference to get your annual statement and report electronically
And if you may be eligible for a co-contribution, make sure you contribute well ahead of 30 June to ensure it is allocated to this financial year.
